The Bettendorf Bulldogs prepare for the final minutes of the basketball game Friday (Feb. 21) against Davenport Assumption. The Bulldogs rallied from a 12 point third quarter deficit to tie the contest in the final minutes, but Assumption scored and a last second shot by Bettendorf rolled off the rim. Assumption is tied for the lead in the MAC with North Scott. Bettendorf fell into a second place tie with Muscatine.
Duck swim among patches of ice along the Mississippi River shoreline in Bettendorf. The recent cold snap created more ice on area ponds and rivers, but a thaw with temperatures in the 50's are expected over the weekend.
Both Bettendorf boys and girls teams defeated their Pleasant Valley counterparts January 17. The boys and girls doubleheader at Bettendorf packed the stands. Both games were close until the final minutes.
