Attend 'Batting for Bettendorf' event at John O'Donnell

The Bettendorf Community Schools Foundation will host a "Batting for Bettendorf" fund-raising event Friday, May 10 at John O'Donnell Stadium.

The foundation is taking a new approach to raise money for special grant projects at Bettendorf schools, hosting a kids carnival at 5:30 p.m., followed by the River Bandits game at 7 p.m.

There will be fun "on the field" activities during breaks and between innings, with a fireworks display after the game.


Tickets are $4 and available only in advance through the schools. The ticket price will go to support many special projects funded through the foundation.


The mission of the foundation is to enhance the education of students, foster innovation and excellence in the schools, develop facilities and services of the district and provide broader educational opportunities to the students, staff, faculty and residents of Bettendorf. Each year the foundation awards between $20,000 to $30,000 as grants for school projects.
