Three candidates on special Sept. 23 ballot to fill vacancy on Bettendorf Park Board

Three candidates are on the September 23 special election ballot to fill a vacant seat on the Bettendorf Park Board.

Thomas Dryg, of 3826 Brookwood Lane, David Pratt, of 220 Bechtel Road, and Sandy Smith-Henzen, of 914 14th St., are seeking to fill the unexpired term of Frank Braden, who was elected to the city council earlier this year.

To save money, the city and Scott County Auditor's Office agreed to have only one polling location, St. John Vianney Church, 4097 18th St. The poll will be open from noon to 8 p.m.

Baden was elected to the city council July 1 in a special election to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of alderman at-large Lisa Brown. Fifth Ward Alderman James Steward also resigned earlier this year, and his Scott Webster was elected to fill the his unexpired term in the vote July 1.
