The warmer breezes of spring have arrived and this year, without the threat of flooding along the Mississippi River. The Interstate 74 (Iowa-Illinois Memorial Bridge) arches toward the Illinois shore and downtown Moline.

Play (brrrrr) ball!

Hundreds of father, mothers, boys and girls took to the baseball diamonds this week as tryouts for the Bettendorf-Pleasant Valley Youth Baseball program got under way. The tryouts for the Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony leagues aren't to limit players, but evaluate players according to their abilities for equal distribution and equal competition among the dozens of the teams. The youth baseball season is to begin later this month despite the colder-than-usual spring weather.

The purpose of Downtown Businesses of Bettendorf (DTBB) is to help businesses thrive in Bettendorf√É¬≠s downtown by upholding the well-being of DTTB members.

Goals

To serve as a highly visible organization that promotes Bettendorf√É¬≠s downtown area.

Actively support DTTB members√É¬≠ needs
Work for responsible economic development and growth that focuses on protecting existing downtown businesses
Attract start-ups and fledgling businesses to the downtown
Inform DTTB members of critical issues and maximize their involvement
Facilitate easy communication between members
